Via Giulia
AND the Wild Pappagallo
Via Giulia is one of the most charming little streets in Rome. It runs along the Tiber River but is well bellow street traffic level so it's very quiet and peaceful. An occasional Vespa zips past, but then again it wouldn't really be Rome if that didn't happen. If you are here in the autumn you might catch site of Rome's Pappagallo, or wild parrots. They do not migrate so you can see them anytime, I mostly found them to be along the tree lined Lungotevere (the two roads that flank the Tiber) but their mating season is between September and December so you can catch site of them in huge swarming flocks around dusk.
