Trattoria La Palomba

⁣One restaurant in Orvieto, highly recommended by the locals, is Trattoria La Palomba, a proud recipient of the prestigious Michelin recognition. In this down-to-earth eatery, the flavors of Umbria truly shine. Umbria, more than any other food, is famous for its truffles, which are abundant and inexpensive.

I asked for their Spaghetti alla Carbonara topped with generous shavings of the local truffle. The waiter armed with an enormous truffle fiercely grated over the top of my pasta … and tablecloth too!
